What's the difference between Full Body Treatments and Belly Only Treatments?Full body treatments last for 75mins and is the deluxe treatment for mums that want to have some quality "me" time. It includes full body massage as well as abdominal massage therapy, healing mask and binding. Belly Only treatments last for 30mins and focuses on the belly only. It is perfect for mums who just want to focus on abdominal, organ recovery and slimming of their tummy area. It includes abdominal massage therapy, healing mask and binding.
What does the Belly Binding involve and how long should I wear it for?
A long piece of fabric is used to bind your belly during the treatment. This helps your organs back into place and helps any split abdominal muscles to come back together. It also supports your back and pelvis. We recommend you keep the binding on for 8-10 hours (minimum 6).
Is the binding uncomfortable?
It is best to have the binding on relatively tightly however Jenny will do it to your personal comfort level. So you will still be able to breath and move around.
Are the ingredients used during the treatment safe for breastfeeding?
Yes all the ingredients are safe during breastfeeding. In fact all the ingredients used are of the highest quality and are organic where possible or wild crafted. As a UK trained Clinical Aromatherapist, Jenny hand blends all the herbs and oils, selecting key ingredients to help in your restoration.
When is the postpartum treatment not recommended?

If you have an infection, fever, high blood pressure or hemorrhaging. Or if you it has not been at least one month after a C-Section delivery.
Is the treatment performed on a Massage Bed?
The 75mins Home Treatments are performed on a massage bed but the 30mins Home Treatments will be performed on your bed or sofa at home. For 75mins treatment, a massage bed will be delivered to your home prior to your first treatment and will be kept at your home until your last treatment.
What is a vaginal steam?

Vaginal steams are known as ‘Bajos” in Spanish and are an ancient healing system from the Mayan tradition. Many other cultures also utilize steaming as part of postpartum recovery. Vaginal steams help to heal the perineum and vaginal area as well as help cleanse the uterus.
During a steam, a bowl of steaming water and herbs is placed under a special chair. You then sit (without underwear) over the bowl of steaming herbs and a towel is wrapped around your waist. This is a very nurturing experience.
When is vaginal steaming contraindicated?

If you had an episiotomy, stitches due to a tear in your perineum, if you have an infection or a fever or had a c-section delivery or you have excessive bleeding, then we would wait until all is healed before doing a steam.
What is castor oil?
Castor oil is an extremely healing oil and has been used to increase milk production among lactating women, and it is occasionally used to quickly and effectively heal the umbilicus of newborns, and is regularly used to stop hormone-related hair loss. Packs are helpful from averting a breastfeeding issue (mastitis, clogged ducts, general soreness and inflammation) to healing from birth (especially beneficial in cases of cesarean section). Castor oil has also been used to treat ovarian cysts, fibroids, and heavy menstrual cycles. During the postpartum period, it is useful for assisting the taxed liver and gallbladder, and getting the intestines going.
What are the benefits of Ginger and Fennel essential oils?
Ginger is a great digestive aid and is extremely warming to the body. It is very important that Mums be kept warm after delivery.
Fennel is a well known herb for increasing milk production. It is also great for getting the digestive system going and warming the body.

I've had a Hysterectomy - how do the Arvigo Techniques help?
Women who have had hysterectomies benefit greatly from these techniques as it improves circulation in and around the area of the scar. When circulation is improved,  scar tissue will be prevented from forming in the pelvis after surgery. Ligaments and other remaining organs are benefited from improving circulatory flow to the pelvis.

How do the Arvigo Techniques help with Caesarian sections?
For women who have had a C-section, this technique is beneficial for breaking up scar tissue in the same way it works for women who have had hysterectomies. Scar tissue is not only about the outward visability of the scar but internally,  it can prevent the uterus from moving back into her correct position post pregnancy which may cause a myriad of problems later on.

How do the Arvigo Techniques support digestion?
Many anxieties and emotions through life are stored in our body's tissues and organs. A very common place is in the organs of the digestive system. Those so called "butterflies in your stomach" can lead to constipation, indigestion, heartburn, gastritis, and eventually to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Gasto Esophageal Reflux (GERD), Crohn's and more.

Stresses and emotions cause the small intestine and colon to be "twisted or kinked" leading the blockages in the flow of peristalsis. Surrounding fascia creates adhesions that mal-position organs and impede proper blood flow and enzyme secretions. These techniques slowly improve fascia adhesions, scar tissue and remove any "kinks" in the digestive tract. Often there is a dramatic improvement after just one session when combined with proper diet and self-care.

Will the Arvigo Techniques help with digestion problems following abdominal surgery?
Scar tissue and facial adhesions can often cause problems with digestion after abdominal surgery. Again, by improving circulation it breaks down  the scar tissue and adhesion from past or present surgeries. A few sessions combined with castor oil packs, diet and self care are often used depending on the restriction for optimal success. Make sure you wait for allow 4-6 weeks or at the consent of your health care provider before applying this technique.

What is "Self Care" and why does it help?
Each client is instructed in performing the abdominal massage for themselves. By doing self care massage daily for 2 - 3 minutes of daily massage, it provides the individual with the ability to improve their symptoms while working with their practitioner.

Over the years, practitioners report that their clients obtain relief from their symptoms quicker when they perform daily self care techniques and make the necessary lifestyle changes than clients who do not.

Pregnancy Massage:

When can I start receiving massage during pregnancy?
You can begin receiving regular massages after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and up until the day of birth.

What to expect during a pregnancy massage treatment?
Studies have shown that pregnancy massage tables (with hole in massage table) do not support the belly well enough and therefore during your treatment, you will be in a side laying position which is much safer for both you and the baby. The massage is more gentle than conventional massage because a pregnant mother's body is much more sensitive and fragile. There are certain pressure points that should be avoided during pregnancy. This is why you should always go to a certified pregnancy massage therapist that is specifically trained in these special techniques.

Post-Natal Massage:

When I can I start coming for post-natal massage?
You may start receiving post-natal massages as soon as you feel comfortable. Your therapist will position you comfortably if your abdomen or breasts are sore. If you have maternal complications, first consult with your medical provider.

What to expect during a post-natal massage treatment?
Post-natal massage is either performed on your side, if you have recently given birth and are unable to lay on your tummy. If you are fully recovered, then you will lay both on your front and back. Special attention will is be given to the belly area using Arvigo Maya Abdominal Techniques to help the uterus back into optimal position.
